Cycling Resources

Check out these sites for cycling safety tips and info on cycling in Chicago!

Chicago Bikes Youtube channel – A series of short videos showing a lot of the in’s and out’s of riding in Chicago.  Great for new and experienced riders.

Velociped.es – helps you find your route on bike.  It uses data from the City of Chicago that displays the best routes and bike racks to lock.

The ChainLink – The ultimate Chicago cycling community forum.  So much information already available and a great community to get any questions answered.

Active Transportation Alliance – Advocacy group for cycling as well as public transit and pedestrian rights.  Tons of great information on their site and they host many events.

Chicago Stolen Bike Registry – where to go in case your bike is stolen.  Also, I recommend registering with their link to Bike Shepard!  This allows you to create a certificate that can be used to prove that a bike is indeed yours if needed.

Bicycle Ambassadors – Advocacy group for safe cycling.

Chicago Critical Mass  – Huge community ride the last Friday of every month!
